I`m Paul McSharry, a solution architect and instructor based in the UK.
I work as a Field Principal Solution Architect in the Multi-Cloud Architecture Team at VMware.
I have been an IT professional for 15+ years, specializing in virtualization, cloud migration, and transformation projects for the last ten years.
Recent advisory projects include Cloud migrations, Multi-Cloud Strategies, datacentre consolidation, hybrid implementations, & new product enablement.
I have a special interest in combining architectural work & education to help operationalize solutions.
I hold the VMware Certified Design Expert (no #234) and the Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert certifications.
In addition I am a qualified IT instructor, holding the advanced level VMware Certified Instructor (VCI) & Microsoft Certified Trainer (MCT) credentials.
I also hold various other certifications in areas such as Amazon AWS, Microsoft – MCSE, MCITP, Cisco – CCNA, & Software testing/service management.
I am also a published author with VMware;
VMware Press: Official cert guide to the VMware Certified Advanced Professional 5 DataCenter Design (VCAP5-DCD).
I am also honored to have been presented the vExpert award for work with the technical community from 2012-Present. 
I have also received awards for VMware instruction from VMware EMEA.
This blog has also been voted in the top 50 virtualization blogs of 2017 and the top 30 in 2018.
I have presented for various online community podcasts, recorded presentations for VMware in their official Learning Zone portal, and participated in panel discussions/breakout sessions & presentations at several VMworld events from 2014 – present.
